About Nice Work Events
Nice Work is a partnership formed in 1989 to provide specialist marketing, promotional, PR and event management solutions to organisations big and small. The partnership has been responsible for award-winning marketing campaigns for companies and organisations working in a variety of business environments.
Our work ranges from preparing, managing and implementing marketing plans through to devising communications schedules, media and press programmes. We have many years copywriting experience across a broad range of markets, writing to support both above and below the line promotions.
Event management is an important part of our business and our business has carried out many successful events both in the UK and overseas in Spain, France, Ireland, Iceland, Hungary, Switzerland, Portugal, Monte Carlo and the USA.. We specialise in arranging events for all kinds of organisations - and we can manage on your behalf all manner of events from theatre trips, dinners and escorted trips overseas to team building and motivational exercises.
Nice Work has been responsible for planning and staging entertainment and events at trade union conferences including TUC Congress, Scottish TUC, PCS, Prospect, Connect, the Royal College of Nursing, the T & G, MSF, GMB, The Bakers Union, Unify and Unison.
Road running has long been a passion for both partners and we have used our event management skills both to organise road races in East Sussex and to take groups of runners to unique road racing events in Europe.
Fundraising events have been an important part of our portfolio for many years now. Amongst our projects, Nice Work has developed sponsored cycle rides and sponsored walks in France.
Both of the partners have worked extensively within the charity environment and are committed and extensive fundraisers in their own right and within their own community.
We also have many years experience in presenting successful corporate
and personal events including Sporting Dinners, Cabaret Evenings, Race
Nights, Casino Nights, Quiz Nights, Family Fun Nights, Magic Shows, Live
Music events - both indoors and outdoors - and sporting events. We are
proud too to have developed a small portfolio of private clients who demand
the highest standards for their own personal and celebratory events.
Martin Burke has qualifications in Marketing and Business Studies and prior to forming the partnership had 15 years experience in financial services marketing with a number of companies at a senior level. He has lectured and spoken on all aspects of marketing and communications at events and seminars throughout the country and has also operated in-house marketing training to a number of organisations.
He has around 25 years experience of writing on a wide range of subjects.
Martin is an experienced and professional presenter and is available to MC your next event.
Cathy Burke has a BA (Hons) in Business Studies, specialising in Marketing and Statistics and has also had a specialist career in marketing with companies such as Jardine Mathieson, Young's Seafood and Bishopscourt Financial Services.
Martin and Cathy are married - to each other - have three children and live in East Sussex.
