Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race 2010
20-10-2010
The Himalaya 100 Mile Stage Race is one of the world's greatest stage events.
This 10 day trip is a spectacular and a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The 100 miles sounds a long way - but don't be put off, the distance can be covered by those used to running or walking regularly.
We're returning for the second time with a group in November 2010. It would normally cost between £2600 and £3200 to do the event, but our trip is looking to secure savings of around £500-ish per person.
The race takes place in the Darjeeling area of India, with the route being mainly on the border of India and Nepal in the North-East Himalayan ranges. In 2008, particpants from fourteen countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Spain, Namibia, New Zealand, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, South Africa, Italy, Finland, India took part. The race is known to be one of the world’s most challenging and toughest endurance events with ‘AAA’ rating – it is also the world’s most eco friendly marathon event.
