Medway 10k

The Medway 10k is part of the Medway Festival of Sport, with support from Medway Council. The race attracts runners of all abilities, from experienced athletes to those new to running. The Medway 10k will be looking to help raise money for the designated charity - Wisdom Hospice - and runners are encouraged to raise money to help the Hospice through sponsorship.

The race is chip-timed and medals will be awarded to all finishers. Prizes will be awarded to the leading runners, age category winners and first male and female UKA affiliated team. The event is intended to be a family event and, in addition to the main 10k race, there are Children’s races around the athletics track.

The Course
This one lap 10km course runs along roads and parkland, starting and finishing on the athletics track at Medway Park. The route will be clearly marked and marshalled but we would ask you to remember that we do not have exclusive use of the footpaths and roads and you should be aware that other users will be on the course. Some roads have been closed to traffic whilst others remain open, so please be mindful that there may be traffic on the course. There will be two drink stations at around 3km and 6km.

First Aid
St John Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Presentations will take place approximately 45 minutes after the first finisher.

Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
Race Start: Medway Park, Mill Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 1HF

Car parking is available in the car park at Medway Park, but spaces will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. You should also remember that other park users will also wish to use the facility. Normal parking charges will apply.

Gillingham Railway Station is approximately half a mile away from Medway Park.
