The British Masters Athletics Federation 10k Championships

This entry is for masters athletes (anyone over the age of 35) who wish to compete in the British Masters 10k Road Championships at Cyclopark The Tollgate, Watling St, Gravesend DA11 7NP  on Sunday the 21st November 2021.

The 10k course is traffic-free on a safe tarmac course. We intend to promote age group wave starts so head-to-head competitive racing is guaranteed.

The timetable of age group starts will start at 11-00am with a short time interval between each age group.

Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each five-year age category from 35 to 100+.

Entries from UKA clubs are welcome and the details of the Team competition will be confirmed.

Cyclopark is the perfect venue for a Road Race with all the infrastructure in place.

Covid safety measures may impact the use of changing rooms and other facilities, but the race can still operate in a Covid secure environment if deemed necessary.

British Masters entries close 16/11/2021. Early entries are advised as the number of entries may be restricted which will result in bringing forward the closing date.

UKA registration is mandatory for entry to the championships with an entry fee of £16-00 for British Masters Area Club members. If you are not a member of one of the British Masters Area Clubs, your entry to the championships is subject to a supplement of £4.

For further information regarding joining the Area Club who hosts competitions in your region of the UK, refer to the BMAF website.

The Course

The 10k course uses the tarmac cycle circuit. The 10k event will cover four laps. The route will be clearly marked using directional cones to guide you around the course.

The route is an undulating but fast course with a couple of inclines to contend with, along with a long downhill section and covers the tarmac roads using the outer circuit of the Cyclopark.

First Aid

St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the night and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep runner following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. Results should be available on our website www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as you cross the finish line. Provisional results will be published as soon as possible after the race has finished and final results will be published as soon as is practical on the day after the race.

All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results by email as soon as possible on the first working day after the race.
