This half marathon & 10k race takes place around the undulating, traffic-free trails surrounding Carsington Water Reservoir. The route offers stunning views of the Lake and surrounding Peak District countryside and both races are ideal as part of a Spring marathon training schedule.
Carsington Water is also an ideal family location and perfect for a weekend day out.
The race is brought to you by the same team that manages the Tissington Trail Half Marathon - which regularly features in the Runner's World top 10 UK trail races.
Prizes from the event are generously sponsored by Big Bobble Hats who will be present on the day of the event.
On Site Parking - parking charges apply
Bus transport to the start included in entry fee
This is an undulating multi-terrain route using the paths and trails around Carsington Water. The Half Marathon is a 1.5 lap route with 10k runners completing a half loop. You can expect some inclines along with sections that use the footpaths surrounding the reservoir.
Buses will provide transport from the Race HQ to the start line.
The course has been measured using GPS but, because of its multi terrain nature, it cannot carry a certificate of course accuracy. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. There may be the occasional walker and dog walker, so you should exercise care when running.
First Aid St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep runner following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
Runners and spectators are recommended to drive to the event. There is ample on site parking, but please note that it is pay and display. There will be buses to transport you from the Visitors Centre to the race start, which is included in your entry fee.
