The Maidstone Half Marathon

Location: Cornwallis Academy, Hubbards Lane, Linton, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 4HX
Date: Sunday 15th October 2017
Time: 09:00

Maidstone Harriers are pleased to host the Maidstone Marathon and Half Marathon after its successful revival in 2016. This popular accurately measured route takes in a rural Kent course featuring the challenging lanes in and around the villages of Boughton Monchelsea, Loose and East Farleigh. The route uses a single loop for the half marathon with the marathon runners completing a second loop.

We had great feedback after we introduced the new course in 2016.  Runners loved the undulations of the hills and felt a huge sense of achievement at the finish. If you're looking for a challenge, then this is it! One runner said 'It was challenging in parts, but great organisation and awesome marshals who were so supportive and encouraging'.

There's a unique medal and race memento available for all finishers - plus prizes for leading runners and age category winners.

The Course
A challenging, rural course taking in the lanes in and around the villages of Boughton Monchelsea, Loose and East Farleigh. The route uses a single loop for the half marathon with the marathon runners completing a second loop. There are distance markers at every mile and frequent water stations.

The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows, as well as being marshalled throughout. Please note that the roads will not be closed for the event and, although they are quiet lanes, there is a chance you may meet a vehicle on the route. Due to the race taking place on open roads, headphones are banned for this event and anyone seen wearing headphones during the race will be disqualified.

The marathon has a cut off time of 6 hours. We regret that this course is unsuitable for wheelchair and disabled athletes.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
