Event Overview:
We invite you to join us for this wonderful forest race to celebrate the arrival of 2025! If you have a New Year's resolution to get yourself race-fit twirling about your brain, then why not join us in the picturesque forest of Sherwood Pines, for the Sherwood New Year 10k and 5k? This race has been steadily growing in popularity and, due to overwhelming demand, there are new routes for our 5k and 10k runners PLUS we now offer a junior race edition as well!

Great for seasoned pros or total newbies and the route's gorgeous greenery is sure to motivate any runner to the finish.

And, for our junior racers...
... is a BRAND NEW family event in the form of a junior race offering!
This race will give our aspiring junior racers a chance to take part in their very own, dedicated event.  The race will take place before the main race, on the trails and paths around Sherwood and will be fully marshalled. The race will not be chip timed but all our junior finishers will receive a medal and can look forward to being cheered across the finish line. 

Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line. If parents are accompanying their children on this race then no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a chip time or medal. We hope that you will join us in supporting our young runners with uproarious cheers!

Course Overview:
NEW for 2025! Two totally new routes for our 10km and 5km runners to enjoy. Both races consist of one lap and whilst they share some parts of the course, each route will enjoy new sections, unique to their race distance.

We are doing our best to work sustainably and to ensure that the carbon footprint of our races is kept as low as possible. We are always working on new initiatives and you can read more about these...  here!

A note on headphones:
Due to new UKA rules that came into force on 1st April 2024, in the ear and over the ear headphones are no longer permitted at running events unless otherwise stated. Bone conducting headphones are permitted however, if you do choose to wear bone conducting headphones, then we ask that you have the volume turned down low enough to hear the marshal instructions.
