The Ashford & District Marathon & Half Marathon

The Ashford & District Marathon & Half Marathon is ideal for those who prefer an alternative to the big city, mass participation spring marathons. This rural marathon and half marathon uses the quiet lanes surrounding Ashford, Westwell and Charing with a section along the Pilgrims Way. The marathon is a two-lap scenic multi-terrain course with half marathon runners covering a single lap. The race is suitable for both experienced and first-time marathon or half marathon runners.

A bespoke medal and finish line goodies are on offer for all finishers, plus there are prizes for the leading runners. Aid stations will be plentiful and well-stocked!

The race is generously sponsored by PodPlus, a local sports shop and injury clinic based at the Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford. You can find details on their services on their website here.

The Course
The Ashford & District Marathon & Half Marathon course is an undulating, multi-terrain course using the roads surrounding Ashford, Westwell and Charing with a section along the Pilgrims Way. The marathon runners will complete two laps and the half marathon will be one lap. The final 1.5k of the race is downhill so fast finishes are guaranteed.

The roads will be not closed for the event, but they are quiet lanes. However, please still be aware that there may be vehicles on the course.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Presentations will start approximately 1 hour after the first finisher home.

Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.

Testimonials

"Excellent organisation, well-marked course, good snacks with the water at the end. I forgot about all of the delicious looking cakes in the registration hall though :-( Thanks to all the marshals en-route and the support of St Johns Ambulance. "
