Get your Christmas running season off to a great start with this festive 5k dash and 1k fun run through Cassiobury Park, Watford. Dress up as your favourite festive character and join us in celebrating the festive season - there will be prizes for the best dressed entry in each race.
The race, organised on behalf of Watford Mencap is suitable for runners of all abilities, from experienced athletes to those new to running.
There are festive goodies and mince pies on offer plus a special festive medal available to all finishers. There will also be prizes on offer for leading runners.
The Children's Santa Dash is available to all youngsters and all finishers receive a festive medal and goodies.

Watford Mencap's Children's Centre in Watford provides school clubs, play schemes, nursery groups, a youth club and toy library for over 150 children with learning disabilities in the Watford and South West Herts area.

The Course This single lap 5km course takes in the paths and trails around Cassiobury Park in Watford.
First Aid St John Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by manual timekeepers. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre, but please allow time for them to be manually processed. Presentations will take place approximately 45 minutes after the first finisher.
Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.

From Watford town centre: From the top of the High Street (where the pond is) follow Rickmansworth Road (A412) past the Town Hall, Watford Colosseum and The Peace Hospice.
A road-free cycle route links the town centre to the park (same directions as above). The Ebury Way cycle and footpath between Rickmansworth and Watford is within 2km of the park and can be reached by cycling down the old Ascot Road, crossing Rickmansworth Road and then along Gade Avenue.
There is one official car park for Cassiobury Park at the end of Gade Avenue near the bottom of Cassiobury Park Avenue (WD18 7LG is the nearest postcode).
The car park is signposted from the centre of town and Rickmansworth Road with brown tourist information signs. Parking is free but limited.
There are additional car parks in the town centre, which charge to use them, as alternatives. The nearest of these to Cassiobury Park are the Town Hall car park, Avenue car park, and Gade car park (NB this is not the one in Gade Avenue).
Cassiobury Park is a 2 minute walk from the Watford Metropolitan line station on the London Underground network. Exit the station onto Cassiobury Park Avenue and turn right, after about 150 metres turn left onto Shepherds Road – the park is straight ahead of you.
Watford Junction (1.3 miles) and Watford High Street (2.1 miles) are the two closest overground stations.
The 352 and W30 services stop outside Watford Metropolitan line station which is a two minute walk from the park.
