The 15th August 2020 marks the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day - the day that brought World War II to an end and peace to millions.
World War II was the deadliest conflict in human history, involving over two dozen countries. An estimated 71,000 soldiers from Britain and the Commonwealth died in the war against Japan, including more than 12,000 prisoners of war who died in Japanese captivity. The 15th August 1945 was the moment that the Allies - that is Britain, the US and other countries that were fighting together - marked victory over Japan. Britain's new prime minister Clement Atlee confirmed the end of the war by saying: "The last of our enemies is laid low." It was this significant day in world history that brought peace.
To commemorate this important anniversary, we have launched the VJ Day 75 Anniversary Challenge.
Entries are now open and you can start clocking those miles as soon as you like - and your target is to complete 75 miles or 75k in four weeks, with the final date for entry to the Challenge being the 15th August. Whenever you enter, you will have 4 weeks to complete it from whenever you start.
We have a magnificent themed bespoke medal for everyone who completes the challenge.
We are delighted to be supporting the work of COFEPOW and a donation from entry fees will be given at the end of the Challenge. More details can be found here.

How do I take part?
It's easy to take part, once you have booked we will send you a step-by-step guide.
Simply enter the Challenge and we’ll send you a logbook to record your distance. Then return the completed logbook to us by email at the end of the Challenge and we’ll send you your exclusive VJ Day 75 Challenge medal. Alternatively, you can send us traces or screenshots from your favourite fitness devie. If you complete the Challenge using indoor sessions, then just take a quick snap of the treadmill displays.
