The Canterbury Half Marathon

Important information regarding parking

Due to the Rugby Club and Merton Farm being unavailable for parking this year, we have arranged for a Park and Ride service for both runners and spectators from Sturry Road Park and Ride. The post code for Sat Nav is CT1 1AD. Buses will run every 10 minutes from 8am to 10am for the 10 minute drive to Merton Farm. Priority will be given to runners over spectators and the last bus for runners will leave at 9.30am. This is to ensure that you will arrive in time for the start of the race. The buses will then resume at 11.30am to transport you back to you cars through until 2pm.

Please arrive ready to run because there are no changing facilities at the race venue - but there will be a bag drop area for small bags.

A popular part of the Kent sporting calendar, the Canterbury Half Marathon returns again in 2021. Organised to support Pilgrims Hospices by Nice Work, the race attracts a large Bank Holiday Monday entry to confirm its position as one of Kent's favourite half marathons.

The course is challenging and covers the quiet country lanes on the outskirts of the city.

Bespoke medal plus range of finish line goodies available to all finishers. Also includes well stocked aid stations along the route.

Our thanks, as always, to the Canterbury Forset of Blean Rotary Club for their invaluable help in staging this race.

Also includes a 2 mile fun run and children's race.
The Canterbury Half Marathon course is a lollipop shape route covering the roads on the outskirts of the City. The course has been officially measured and carries a certificate of course accuracy. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. Due to sections of the route being open to traffic headphones are not permitted to be worn during the race and if you are seen wearing headphones you risk disqualifaction.

You can view a copy of the route map here.

First Aid
St John Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
Race HQ: Merton Farm, Merton Lane, Canterbury, Kent, CT4 7BA

The Race Headquarters will be at Merton Farm on the field adjacent to the entrance of the farm. The start/finish area will be located on the road imediately outside the HQ and signs will be clearly posted to direct you.

The closest railway station is Canterbury East Station however this is roughly 3 miles from the race HQ.
