Main Race Start - 10.00 am Junior Race Start - 09.30 am
After another fantastic year in 2021 the Deal Dinosaur 10k returns for a 40th time in 2022 as part of the Deal Regatta Association Carnival. The race is named in memory of one of the Deal Tri club's founders, Roger Francis-Darby, who during his competitive history often referred to himself as an Old Dinosaur!
The race features a sea front start and finish and the course follows an undulating route in and around the seaside town. This is a great race for those new to 10k races as well as those looking to post a good time. Profits from the race are donated to skin cancer charities.
Medals are available to all finishers – plus there are cash prizes and trophies to leading runners plus prizes for Age Group winners, oldest finisher, the first married couple and team prizes for clubs.
Nice Work are responsible for Chip Timing & Entry Management Services for the event.
The race is a precisely measured circuit, staged utilising the seafront promenade and a short section of the unmade surface at Wellington Parade and Boundary Road, Kingsdown. The route is an out and back figure of eight course. There will be a water station at approximately 2 miles and and at the finish.
St John Ambulance will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Presentations will take place approximately 45 minutes after the first finisher.
Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
The race start is located on the promenade, adjacent to Deal Castle. To reach Deal Castle, follow directions from the M2-A2 to Dover, then A258 to Deal and then the directions to the seafront and Deal Castle. Race HQ is located at the Sea Scout Hut along the promenade near the public toilets on Marine Rd. The Sea Scout Hut will be open from 2 hours before the race start, where your number and chip will be available to collect.
