The Cosford Spitfire 10K

Location: RAF Cosford Museum, Shifnal, Shropshire, TF11 8UP
Date: Sunday 28th August 2022
Time: 10:00

Chocks away! The Spitfire 10K is back!

The Spitfire 10K will return in 2021 to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford – giving runners the opportunity to run for a Battle of Britain pilot and support the RAF Museum.

After the incredible feedback and support in 2020, we are excited to announce that the Spitfire 10K will take place again on Sunday 29 August 2021 at the RAF Museum Cosford. Your support for this event enables the RAF Museum, a registered Charity, to tell the inspiring stories of RAF personnel, just like The Few – the courageous Battle of Britain Pilots and Crew who fought in the skies above Britain in 1940.

Sunday 29 August

Race at the RAF Museum Cosford

At the RAF Museum Cosford, you will take off from the Hangar 1, head outside and begin the race with a loop of the Museum site past iconic aircraft including the VC10, Hercules and Britannia, before heading onto the airfield at RAF Cosford. It’s a unique opportunity to run alongside the wartime hangars, the air traffic control tower and sprint down the runway!

Once you cross the finish line you will receive the highly coveted Spitfire 10K race medal.

For the whole family

Our Spitfire Family Run will also be back at our Museums this year. This 1K run is perfect for the younger ones but can also be completed by the whole family. Family Run technical running t-shirts will be available in various children’s sizes when booking your ticket. Further details will follow shortly – watch this space!

Run with The Few!

Our Roll of Honour cards are one of the most popular elements of the race. They enable you to carry the name of a Battle of Britain Pilot with you on your run. Because we know that you all love to find out more about your pilots, we will send you the Roll of Honour Card early for 2021 – so that you have enough time to research the incredible life of ‘your’ pilot and share their stories.

Whether you talk about your pilot with your family and friends or share their stories on social media – we want you to get involved and keep their memory alive!

Fundraise for The Few and receive a free t-shirt
