We have been working closely with the Weald 10k team, our race partners for the event, and they have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel this year's event on Sunday 5th September.
With so many races (including the big mass participation marathons) rescheduling for the Autumn, the race will be sharing the date with the Paddock Wood Half Marathon and the London Half Marathon.
It is with a heavy heart that the Weald 10k have decided to postpone the event to 2022. We know that this news will come as a disappointment and it is not one that has been taken lightly.
Come and join us for this great Village race
After an absence of a year due to Covid, the popular Weald St Georges 10k returns in 2021 for a 15th time.
The route is scenic and showcases the pretty Kent village of Sevenoaks Weald, with the start and finish being in the centre of the village utilising the Village Green.
The event has a real village feel and has long proved popular, usually attracting around 400 entries. Runners of all standards are welcome, including those new to running. There will be food and activities available for the whole family on the Green, plus a medal and finish line goodies to all finishers.
There is also a 2k Fun Run taking place at 10:40 am.
Why take part?
UK Athletics licenced event
Medal for all finishers
Prizes for winners and age category winners in the 10k
Prizes for leading runners in the 5k
Baggage Drop Off
The race was voted by Runners World, as one of the top three 10k events in the South East. The race uses a varied course, mostly on road, but with around 2km of hard surfaced woodland trail. At whatever pace you choose to complete, this course will give you a great workout. There is plenty of variety, including long straights, sharp turns, on road and off road, a water point at 5k and...the hill at 9.5k!
The hill has become a real feature of the event. It is short and steep, and with just 500m to go to the finish, as long as you have kept some energy in reserve, you can power up it, and almost coast to the finish from the top.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
If you have a SAT NAV plug in TN14 6PY and that will get you to Weald. For those who prefer directions:
From the North: come off the M25 at junction 5 and head south on the A21 toward Tonbridge and Hastings. Keep on the A21 Sevenoaks by-pass until you get to the A225 / B245 turning to Sevenoaks and Hildenborough and S’oaks Weald - Morley’s Roundabout. Take the 5th exit Morley Road and follow this into Weald Village.
Form the South: you will either be travelling along the A21 towards the M25 or the A225 from Tonbridge. On the A21, south of Sevenoaks come off the A21 at the A225 sign and follow the slip round to Morley’s Roundabout. Take the first exit onto Morley Road and follow this into Weald Village. From the A225 travelling north you will arrive at Morley’s Roundabout. Take the third exit onto Morley Road and follow this into Weald Village.
By Public Transport: probably best catching a train to Sevenoaks and then picking up a Taxi (about £12.00).
