The Snowdrop Charity Spring Challenge

We are delighted to announce our March Charity virtual race, continuing to support small charities.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our virtual events and especially our monthly charity races. The money raised by you by taking part is making a real difference and enabling our charity sector to continue to support those in need.

March Race Partner – The Sussex Snowdrop Trust

To see a snowdrop flower is often the first sign of spring which is a great symbol for a Spring challenge. The Snowdrop is also part of the logo for the children’s charity, The Sussex Snowdrop Trust.

The Snowdrop Care at Home Team provide vital nursing care in the homes of children who have a life threatening or terminal illness. The Trust also provides emotional help in the form of counselloring and financial help where needed with food and petrol vouchers.

The Sussex Snowdrop Trust is now supporting 73 families in the local area.  The event planning continues to be unpredictable in the charity’s calendar so we are keen to continue our support for this worthwhile cause.

The Snowdrop Charity Spring Challenge

In our March challenge, we encourage you to walk, run or cycle a mile or km for every family that the charity supports. That’s a total of 73 miles/km during the month of March. Discounted family entries are available.

Race Dates – 1st March - 30th April 2022 – you have the whole month to complete your chosen distance!

There will be a stunning bespoke medal for all finishers and we will have spot prizes for those who walk, run or cycle the furthest distance. You don’t have to stop at 73, you can just keep going!

Di Levantine, Chairman and Co-Founder of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, “ Building on the success of this challenge last year, we hope people will feel connected virtually whilst raising vital funds for a common cause, our Snowdrop Care at Home Team. It was a joy to see pictures of those who completed the previous challenge, proudly displaying their medals, knowing each mile had helped a family we support. We all need motivation in our lives when things become difficult. This is a great focus to get outside and have a sense of achievement at the end of the month. We would welcome people to set up their own Justgiving page and share their challenge journey with others as this in turn helps raise awareness about the charity. Two families have shared their stories about the Snowdrop nurses and I urge you to take the time to watch it https://youtu.be/ITKxeY9jq20 as it explains so well what impact they have on their lives when their world was turned upside down. Good luck with the challenge and thank you for going the extra mile for these families. We hope you have fun and spot many snowdrops along the way.”
