Be part of something amazing and volunteer as a marshal at Rye Ancient Trails!

   Sunday 13 September 2026
   Rye, East Sussex

Rye Ancient Trails is coming on Sunday 13 September 2026 and we want YOU to be part of it!

This race is steeped in local history and involves the whole community within Rye and the surrounding villages. The valuable funds raised to support charities and local causes in the area through the race makes this a truly exceptional event. And, it wouldn't be possible without our amazing volunteers. The Rye Ancient Trails has a course that spans a huge area and we need your help to make race day a brilliant experience for hundreds of runners. From cheering from the sidelines or marshalling around the course is what brings the event to life. No previous experience required!

Roles are available all round the course and there is flexibility depending on location and your availability. Typically, a marshal is in place for 2 - 3 hours with the earliest shift beginning at 09:00 and the latest at 11:00.

Volunteering at Rye Ancient Trails is a rewarding, unforgettable experience and without the support of the amazing community and volunteers, this event wouldn't be possible.
