The Chasewater Easter Egg 10k & 5k

The 2021 Chasewater Easter Egg 10k and 5k fell victim to the Covid pandemic and we were forced, for the second successive year, to cancel the race.

However, we are excited and delighted to confirm that we will be hosting this race after a two year absence due to the Covid pandemic. The eagerly awaited  Chasewater Easter Egg 10k & 5k  is finally set to  return this Easter and, with less than three months to go, we can't wait to see you all there!

Why not get your Easter Sunday off with a bounce at the Chasewater Easter Egg 10k & 5k?

Using the undulating paths and trails around Chasewater Reservoir, this race is a real running treat! Dress up as your favourite Easter character and take part in the either a 10k or 5k race. The event also includes a short children’s race.

There are seasonal goodies on offer plus a special Easter medal available to all finishers. There will also be prizes on offer for leading runners and age category winners.

New for 2022 we will have two races for the Juniors starting from 10.00 AM with a shorter 600m race and a longer event for the older runners. Both races will be chip timed.

The Course
The race will start just outside the Innovation Centre and, after a short loop around the centre, runners will head clockwise around the reservoir and cover two laps for 10k and one lap for the 5k. Due to the multi terrain nature of the event, we are unable to get a certificate of course accuracy, but the route is as close to 10k/5k that GPS technology will allow.

The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows, as well as being marshalled throughout. Please note that even though the route is run on the trails surrounding the reservoir, we do not have exclusive use of the site and there will be other users on the route. We ask that you give way to pedestrians on the course.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or another medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
Race Location: Chasewater Country Park, Pool Lane, Burntwood, Staffordshire
Race HQ: The Innovation Centre, just off the A5

The Chasewater Easter Egg 10k & 5k takes place at Chasewater Country Park and is accessible by car and, of course, by bicycle and on foot. Parking is located at the site, so please follow the car park marshal instructions.

The Race HQ is located close to the Innovation Centre at Chasewater Country Park, just off the A5. You can cross the footbridge to the event but we would recommend arriving by car.

The Innovation Centre is located just off the A5 and is signposted onto Pool Road. Do not try and enter the park via the A5195 as this route is a single lane track blocked by a barrier at the end, which we do not have access to and turning is extremely difficult!
The nearest railway station is located at Cannock, but you will then need to get a taxi to the event.
