Join us for the rescheduled Lydd 20 and Half -
perfect for those planning an Autumn marathon
We are delighted to announce that the 14thBrett Lydd 20 mile and half marathonrace will now go ahead on Sunday 15th August, to coincide with Autumn marathons such as London, Manchester and Loch Ness.
The Brett Lydd 20 mile and half marathon is a long-established event and takes place on a pancake flat course, using the wide, quiet country lanes surrounding the Marsh town of Lydd in Kent. It is the perfect opportunity to test your pace, hydration, and nutrition for future marathons but also a great course for those new to the distance. If the conditions are right on the day, it’s fast and PB’s are highly likely!
Runners of all standards are welcome and race profits are donated to the Mayor of Lydd's Charity fund. There is a £100 prize for leading man and lady along with prizes for 2nd and 3rd male and females. Plus there are age category prizes for male and female winners in the vet categories 1 - 7. A high quality medal is on offer for all finishers and you can also pre-order your long sleeve souvenir technical running shirt for £12.
This race enjoys the sponsorship of Brett, the UK's largest independent construction and building materials company. For more information on the company, please visit their website.

The Course The race will start on the main road adjacent to the Banks Sports Club in Dennes Lane, which is found just off the High Street. Participants will head out to the north of the town and cover a rural out and back route through the quiet lanes surrounding the town before making their way back to Lydd and the finish at the Sports Club. The route is pancake flat and will be officially measured and carries a certificate of course accuracy.
The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows, as well as being marshalled throughout. Please note that the roads will only be closed for the start of the race and although they are quiet lanes there is a chance you may meet a vehicle on the route.
First Aid St John Ambulance or another medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
