Folkestone Coastal 10k

Location: Coastal Park, near Leas Cliff Lift lower station, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1PS
Date: Sunday 29th May 2022
Time: 10:00

Join us in 2022 for the 11th edition of the Folkestone Coastal 10k

We are delighted to announce that The Folkestone Coastal 10k will return again in 2022.
The event will be the same fast and flat race along the seafront that we all know and love – in 2021 we incorporated an elite wave to the race and race winner Ed Bovingdon crossed the line in 31.08; with the first 25 finishers all breaking the 36 minute barrier. Holly Dixon also retained her female title in a blistering time of 34:51. The elite wave will return in 2022 and qualification times stand at 36 minutes for men and 40 minutes for ladies.
The chance of a fast time is just one of the reasons this race has always been popular. Another reason is its suitability for runners of all standards – from experienced athletes to those with limited race experience and first time runners.
This is a flat, out and back race along the promenade from Folkestone to Hythe and back and if the weather conditions are right, this is a race with definite PB potential!
The event traditionally attracts a large field and sold out in 2021 with many runners taking part to raise money for good causes. Indeed, the event has raised almost £350,000 for local and international charitable causes

In addition to a quality bespoke medal, there are plenty of prizes, including a big cash prize of £100 for the first man and first lady.
Early entry is advised and you can save up to £5 by entering before May 25th.

The Course
The 10 kilometre run will start from Folkestone seafront, head towards Hythe and then return, whilst taking in the beautiful coastal scenery that the area has to offer. This is a flat promenade route, traffic free and a great race for those who are relatively new to running, but also for those more experienced runners looking for a personal best.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or another medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.

Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. Results should be available on our website www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as you cross the finish line. Provisional results will be published as soon as possible after the race has finished and final results will be published as soon as is practical on the day after the race.

Trophies and awards will be sent in the post after the event.

All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results by email as soon as possible on the first working day after the race.
