Sunny run at the seaside
It was a bit disorganised where they were handing out the medals
Morgan Elavia
Very good event and well run
My only issue was not having a water station at 5km (half way) especially on a hot day like this year

Nice, flat, out and back 10k
The route follows the King Charles III England Coastal Path from close to The Leas Lift Lower Car Park out to nearly The Imperial Hotel in Hythe before turning around and coming back along the same route. As you'd expect, it felt quite crowded at the start with nearly 1000 runners lining up to take part, but it thins out over the first 2 kilometers and it's easier enough to find some space. The marshals were great, warning runners of obstacles whilst also offering encouragement and support. At the finish, you're greeted with your finisher medal and some goodies, and the results email came out in the afternoon. A really nicely run event that has some very small downsides because of the route location but then it wouldn't be a coastal 10k if it was elsewhere.
Some feedback on possible improvements... the number of toilets seemed inadequate for the number of participants and spectators. Also, unless you were close to the start line, it was impossible to hear the announcements over the PA system. The water station was a little soon at just before the 3k marker and would've been better at 3.5-4k.

Keep doing what you're doing
Would it ever be possible to hold this event on Saturday morning. I find that a Sunday morning event eats into the whole of the weekend especially Saturday whereby there is a lot of doing nothing just getting prepared for the Sunday morning race. This would not happen for a Saturday event where the Friday is generally occupied with work stuff etc

Too crowded at start
The start was overcrowded. I couldn't hear any of the information given. Too many slower people at the front that I had to try and overtake which for the first km was almost impossible. Waves are needed in order to start people with similar speeds together and stop the overcrowding. Good atmosphere though and I still managed a PB but could probably have got another minute off if less crowded.

Scenic, flat, exposed
I collapsed at the end with hyperthermia, after very hot running with no shade. I would like to thank all the people who helped me including a paramedic called Antonia. I think she and her colleague saved my life.

Great flat course
I think an another water station could be provided near the turn point. Running out of cups on the return at the water station was an issue on such a hot day. Seems like the water station is an issue as last year the water ran out. I just think more water could be supplied especially in the month of May as it is normally warm weather. Apart from that the course and organisation is great, nice flat course.

Excellent race
Only suggestion - when I passed the timing mat the runners were held in a pen/queue waiting to be given a medal. I couldn’t only see one person giving them out which wasn’t enough for such a large race entry. Standing still after running a hot and fast race was uncomfortable and could have been avoided with more people handing them out.

Flat, fast and simple route
Great marshalling, communication and plenty of water stations. Great value and medal is distinctive however the reintroduction of waves is essential due to much overcrowding in first km. The current format invites accidental tripping, stray elbows and dangerous overtaking. Flat route but the start slows all runners that take longer than 40 mins to complete.
Generous post race goodie bag was welcome and I recommend the race for its scenery.

Lovely run
Run out of water is terrible on a hot day and to run out of goodie bags again is very disappointing. No cups left on water station.

Fantastic Scener, Carnage Start
Scenery is stunning especially with how good the weather was
Needs to be a staggered start, 1st KM felt like a crush with no way to push forward

Congested start and finish line
This race was very busy this year. No way near enough toilets for so many runner.
Very congested at the start with lots of people wearing over the ear headphones meaning they couldn't hear others around them and completely blocking the path. The toilet queues meant I was later to the start line and therefore blocked at the back, I had to try and over take on a surprise congested narrow route.
Finish line could do with improvements. Maybe put the toothpastes inside the bags and then hand those out rather than having people stood umming and ahhing over which color to pick. Water at the front as people finish rather than after the toiletries. Is was very warm to have got blocked in a finish funnel gasping for water.

Too crowded
Please introduce waves. It’s so dangerous at the start and not being able to overtake the first 2km is not good. Then not enough pavement for when you have to share with runners coming back the other way. Good medal though!
Kathryn Bevan
Nice flat course but congested at the start
The start felt chaotic due to the volume of runners and narrow course, maybe introducing more waves (not just elite) would be better. Cups for water station also ran out on the way back which wasn’t great for those of us nearer the back.

Fantastic views and a fast flat course
The race village had a fantastic atmosphere. The course is great for views of the bay.
I think we needed more water stations on the course, half a cup of water at only 2.5km for the entire race wasn't enough for me.
A bottle of water and a tote bag at the end was good, but a banana or an energy bar would have been a welcome addition to the finish.
Loved the medal and finishers t-shirt! Awesome colour and quality, I will happily wear that for other events I attend in future.
I will be looking to do this again if it is on next year!

Nice location
Water needs to be nearer half way. Very congested on course.

First 10k enjoyed it.
Very well run and excellent volunteer marshals to help all go smoothly.
It may not be possible but for the average runner could starts be staggered in blocks a few minutes apart to reduce runners in first km or so as quite different speed in runners. Hopefully if a bit less congested the faster runners could pass the slower runners a bit easier at the beginning. It would not make any difference to start time as times start when your 'chip' goes over start line.

Too many runners
Unfortunately I started near to the back. This caused a huge problem at the narrowest part of the promenade at the start because I couldn't get past other runners. I lost approx 1 and half minutes due to this. This would have given me a PB. Perhaps waves should be introduced.
Louise Hall
Too narrow
Too narrow of a course, too bunched together, no room to overtake runners, too bunched up both this and last year. Great for a PB due to being flat, however being right on the seaside you will always get a bad wind running into it one way and it behind you being good the other way

Good event in beautiful location
Very congested at the start. Did the Regent's Park 10K the day before which started people in order of finish time which was good. Sound system at the start was poor and I couldn't hear the information given. Beautiful, flat route. Water at 3km so too soon into run, and 7km. I really needed the water by 7km but they had run out. I really struggled the last 3km as I was relying on this. I have done this event 3 times and they have never run out of water before.
