Too many runners
Unfortunately I started near to the back. This caused a huge problem at the narrowest part of the promenade at the start because I couldn't get past other runners. I lost approx 1 and half minutes due to this. This would have given me a PB. Perhaps waves should be introduced.

Too narrow
Too narrow of a course, too bunched together, no room to overtake runners, too bunched up both this and last year. Great for a PB due to being flat, however being right on the seaside you will always get a bad wind running into it one way and it behind you being good the other way

Good event in beautiful location
Very congested at the start. Did the Regent's Park 10K the day before which started people in order of finish time which was good. Sound system at the start was poor and I couldn't hear the information given. Beautiful, flat route. Water at 3km so too soon into run, and 7km. I really needed the water by 7km but they had run out. I really struggled the last 3km as I was relying on this. I have done this event 3 times and they have never run out of water before.

Good flat run
Nice flat off road run, a bit narrow in parts but as others have said having start waves would help this. Looks like the water ran out for about the last 10% of runners which was a shame as we need it the most!

Great run but very congested
Really enjoyable route (even though the wind was horrendous on the day), lots of people out giving support and really well marshalled.
I was however really surprised the start wasn't staggered given how thin the path is. The first 2k was really chaotic with people zig zagging around to find space to overtake, I saw several people, myself included, almost get clipped and trip over which would have been really dangerous. It also made it impossible to find any sort of rhythm so my target time went out of the window immediately.
Also, only 8 toilets for 100+ runners plus everyone who attended with them wasn't nearly enough, the queue got so big a lot of people were in danger of missing the start (and I think they actually ended up having to delay it).

Too crowded on start line
I have run this race many times and had a PB a few years back. The start this year was overcrowded and very difficult to get going, runners were running on the shingle beach to get by the crowds. The queue for the loos was very long and then had to rush to the start line which was swamped. There needs to be staggered start on predicted time, and more toilets. Why is this race bone conductor headphones only when it is not on any roads. The atmosphere was good and the marshals were supportive.

Enjoyable race with a chaotic start that needs fixing
Cons
* Start is way to busy and waves like most other race organisers do would go a long way to solving the issue
* Too many people wearing full headphones throughout the race which meant there awareness of others was zero to none
* Water station is too early on the route - would make sense to either have too, or push out to around the 3.5km mark
* Staging area was crowded and hard to work out what queue was for what. Not helped by a few runners who seemed to have parked up in the space
Pros
* Great medal - one of the better ones this year so far
* Top available to purchase is great quality and wore well
* Flat course, which would be great for a PB (when not as windy as it was!)
* Crowds on the route provide a huge amount of support especially when the energy levels are flagging!

Great event but needs updating
Multiple emails were sent out to let us know that there was no overhead or in ear headphones allowed, however, this was not policed at all on the day, this makes a mockery of the race rules and those of us abiding by them.
The start needs to be more staggered, perhaps with flags for estimated finish time so people can place themselves accordingly and the start will not be so congested, it was difficult to navigate.
The view is good and the race is flat, however, open to the elements, so something to consider if you are looking to sign up.

Enjoyable flat run
Noticed this year how many people had headphones that weren't bone conductor even though rules were only bone conductor. No policing of this.
Staggered start based on expected finish time would help with massive congestion this year. A lot of slower runners right at the front, even walkers, making it difficult to pass. Canterbury 10 mile did a staggered start and it worked well.
Also lot of congestion after the finish line.

Brilliant well organised run

Great flat race - no water left for my turn leg when I really needed it.

Lovely race
Great route, fantastic Marshalls. Very congested at the start. Also when the first runner was on their return it was quite tight for the lead cyclist and runners. But I did enjoy it. Nice and flat and good atmosphere.

Definitely worth participating
I have never run this distance in my life but decided to give it a try. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed it, the weather conditions were perfect although the headwinds for the first 5k were there, they didn't really put me off. The atmosphere was great, lots of people there and the people spectating were brilliant too.
I personally would like to thank all the people who organised the event, volunteers, water station volunteers and everyone involved in making the event run smoothly. I highly recommend this to everyone, it's not a race but an achievement for yourself to complete the run. Thank you

Start too crowded and unsafe, please consider start waves

Fast flat friendly

Loved it
Why were only race numbers sent out only for adults
I still had to queue for my sons race numbers
Then i felt bad as I had to jump the queue to get his number as the race was going to start without him
The queues were far to long for some reason & yes I was there in plenty of time
In all the races I have done I have never had to queue like that :(
Won’t put me off already booked my next race :)
Thank you to all the volunteers appreciate it

Great flat run for newbies
Just a shame that water had run out for us slower runners on the return, but overall the support, encouragement and organisation from everyone was excellent
