The 14th Rye Summer Classic Series 10K Race One - July

The Rye Summer Classic Series is a popular series of three Friday evening events and in 2019 returns for the 14th year. Featuring two 10k races and a season-ending final 5k. The race taking place on Friday, 5th July is a fast and flat 10k.
The route is a traffic free road, out and back course through the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. The course is accurately measured, fast and flat and, if the weather is fine, a perfect opportunity for a PB.
Suitable for experienced runners and beginners alike, the event also includes a Children's Race.

The Course This accurately-measured course is a fast and flat, out and back route along the paved paths of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. When conditions are favourable, it can make for some fast times - but, be prepared, it can be windy!
First Aid St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by manual time keepers. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.

The Race Headquarters will be at Rye Harbour Sailing Club. There is on site parking for Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, which will be well signposted as you come into Rye Harbour Village. Please take note of any local parking charges that may be applicable.
The closest railway station is Rye (Sussex), but it is around 2.5 miles from there to the race HQ. You may wish to run, walk or cycle, but there are limited bus services available for the area.

"What I love about Rye is to hear the sea-gulls and to look at the pleasant view of the old fashion harbour. Maybe the fresh sea air just makes me feel good.
Rye 10k race is extremely well organised and I was more than pleased to see chip timing implemented into the race!
