It’s a challenge !
Great route , mostly along the seafront so plenty of time to get comfortable in pace. Quite a few switchbacks and the hill at mile 12 was a twist in the knife .. but well worth it in the end . Thanks to all the organisers and Marshalls ,, not to the dog walkers on the route lol

Great Event Killer Hill
Great event so many marshals even in the middle of nowhere along the beach. Lots of water stations. Good signage. Killer hill to finish definitely takes it out of you. But what’s a race without a challenge.
Adam Cable
Great event
Marshalls amd volunteers very helpful and friendly
Barry Bell
Very good event!
It wood have been nice to have a couple of more portable toilets at the start area,
and also some of the toilets were not flushing properly!
Colin May
Great run, but prefer the old route.
Understand the route had to be changed for subsidence, but felt it was too up and down. Also that hill at the end was a killer!
Kevin Foord
A very good well organised event.
Only the one negative from me. However I did hear a lot of other runners commenting on the same issue. The large hill at the 12mile mark is very unkind! Many others felt the same....
Everything else was perfect.

Lovely half marathon
Lovely run by the sea. Lucky with the conditions today (except the wind!). As others have said that hill at the end is a challenge!!!
Alberto Vicente Pereira
Very well organised, signed and a great atmosphere !
Clare Finn
Friendly and well organised
Lovely scenery, friendly and helpful marshal's. The route was clearly marked out and it was a thoroughly enjoyable run. Well done for organising a brilliant event.
Hugh Champneys
Good overall run.
Only negative was the person at the registration post was dismissive and rude but the other staff was nice so was just the one bloke. Other then that everything was really good.
Fiona Gilbert
It's so nice to be beside by the seaside
Well organised, good to have somewhere safe to leave ones kit. The hill at mile 12 is a real challenge but never mind....at the top the finish line is in sight....almost! There's no need to provide the crisps at the finishing line. Lots of encouragement on route from volunteers. Thank you organisers.

A well organised event
Other than water, may consider giving out energy drinks to runners. And it is better to have some toilets along the route.
Matt Webb
Excellent half for beginners, pros and everything in between.
Possible PB (weather permitting) if you've done the hard word before Remembrance Hill and don't fall over (like I did!).

Run like a local
Down in Folkestone we get this kind of running all of the time. And the truth is that it never gets old. The simple out-and-back course is accessible while providing plenty of challenge on a windy, weathery day like the one we had this year (2023). The only gripe I've ever heard is the one that we all have and that no one can escape - the uphill segment in the 12th mile can feel like a bear. It's a small price to pay for the reward of completing such a lovely half marathon.

Good value half marathon but no exclusive access to route
There were parts of this marathon where I had to wait for a car to go before I could cross the road, Understand it was mentioned in that we didn't have exclusive access on the route but this could have and should have been managed with the presence of race day volunteers. It is a good value half marathon compared to others and I enjoyed the challenge...but not that 'cheeky hill' at the end! :-)
Richard Stokes
Thoroughly enjoyable race. Lovely course, well marshalled. Would do again.
Not sure if anything could be done to the route, to avoid such a sharp hill at mile 12. Appreciate that there has to be some climb, but it does take you off your stride at a late point.
Stephen Goodwin
Very well organised race with very supportive & encouraging marshals and the drinks stations volunteers 10/10
Only downside….. pardon the pun… is the steep uphill in the last mile.
Samantha Smith
The end is hard with the hill, then the incline to the end.
The volunteers were fantastic! Lots of cheering, spurring you on. Good directions by them and mile/half way signs. Nice to run along the sea. Good event!
Cath Langston
Great seaside run
The hill in the final mile is certainly 'the sting in the tail' they say but rest of the course is flat and pretty.
Miles Gawthorp
Very well organised
Course is excellent, mostly flat along the promenade. Organisation was as good as it gets. Friendly knowledge team, easy to collect number on the day, lots of toilets. I was slightly amazed at how good it all was.
