Location: Delhi/Bagdogra, India Dates: October/November 2018
The Himalaya 100 Mile Stage Race is one of the world's greatest stage races and we are looking to take a group once again in 2018, when the race celebrates its 28th anniversary. Our 13 day trip is a spectacular and a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The 100 miles sounds a long way - but don't be put off, the distance can be covered by those used to running or walking regularly.
We're returning for the fifth time with a group in 2018. It would normally cost around £3500 to do the event, but our trip is looking to secure savings of around £500-ish per person. The trip requires a minimum group size of 10 - and we are looking now for expressions of interest. No money will be collected until the minimum group size has been reached. In that event we will look to take deposits to secure race places and flights in January 2018.
The race takes place in the Darjeeling area of India, with the route being mainly on the border of India and Nepal in the North-East Himalayan ranges. In the past when we have visited, particpants from fourteen countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Spain, Namibia, New Zealand, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, South Africa, Italy, Finland, India have taken part.
The race is known to be one of the world's most challenging and toughest endurance events with AAA rating - it is also the world's most eco friendly marathon event.
Our trip includes acclimatisation in the Lake Mirik region plus pre and post race stays in Delhi - and includes a day trip to the Taj Mahal.
