The 31st Benfleet 15

Following the cancelation of the Benfleet 15 in 2021, the race will return in January 2022.

Following yet another fantastic year in 2020 the Benfleet 15 returns for a 31st time in 2022. The race sold out in record time in 2020 and attracted over 800 runners who tackled the challenging route.
Using a challenging multi terrain single lap course starting in Hadleigh Country Park, the route takes runners through the undulating Hadleigh Downs, along sections of the Benfleet and Canvey Island Sea Wall before finishing back at the Country Park.

There will be medals on offer for all finishers with T-shirts available to purchase for £7.
The race is organised by Benfleet Running Club with chip timing services provided by Nice Work.

The race attracts a large field and will sell out, so an early entry is advised. Runner's must not run under someone elses name, anyone spotted will be disqualified.

The Course
This is a challenging but hugely popular multi-terrain course incorporating sections of the Canvey Island sea wall and the undulating Hadleigh Downs.

The course has been measured using GPS but, because of its multi terrain nature, it  cannot carry a certificate of course accuracy. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows and directional cones, as well as being marshalled throughout. The circuit is officially closed and, although we have secured special permission from Essex County Council to stage the run, there may be the occasional walker and dog walker, so you should exercise care when running.

Marshal's will be withdrawn from the Canvey Island loop (mile 8 -13) at 1.00 pm, however, signage will be left in place.

First Aid
St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep runner following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
