Deal Tri are pleased to announce the Deal Half Marathon as it returns again in 2022 to the Kent running calendar around the quiet rural roads through the villages of Betteshangar, Sutton, Ripple, Langdon and Martin Mill.
Also Junior 1500m race along the cycle path starting at 10.45. £3 entry. Details below.
Using an accurately measured course the challenging route takes in the scenic Kent countryside surrounding Deal. There will be water stations located at 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 miles.
The race headquarters are based at Betteshanger Country Park and there are toilet facilities available in the Visitor Centre. Additional toilet facilities will be available at the registration and close to the start and finish area. You are also able to leave any jackets or jumpers at the start/finish however it is not to be used for luggage and will not be monitored all the time.
There is ample parking available at Betteshanger Country Park and you are advised to leave all belongings in your car. Please note the parking charge is £3 so the race entry fees are kept low to allow for this. Car share where possible. And remember the parking fee goes towards the upkeep of this wonderful park. Please do not park on the grass on the roundabout on the A258 as this is not a parking area and inhibits the view of the motorists and supporters crossing the road. You can pay at the meter before departure or pay online up to 48 hours afterwards.
We have Winnie and Co Catering Van at the start/finish area, and by the car park, serving freshly ground coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soup, along with donuts,and other goodies, so great reasons to have your supporters up at the finish to see the runners come in!
With a fantastic list of prizes including £50 for first male and female, plus Podplus vouchers for 2nd and 3rd placed male and female and for age group winners. Team winners receive a Podplus goody bag and free entry for next year.
Chip Timing, Medals to all finishers
All race numbers are to be collected on the morning of the race so you are advised to give yourself enough time to collect your race number and get to the start on time.
Please note that due to the race taking place on open roads, headphones are banned for the event including bone conduction headphones. Anyone seen wearing headphones during the race will be disqualified.
The race has a cut off time of 2:50 and you must pass through halfway in 1:25.
Junior Race – starts 10:45 after main race has left. 1500m out and back along the cycle path. Entry £3. Prize giving will be straight after the race at the finish. Age range up to 16yrs, with prizes in 2 year bands.
