The annual Mince Pie Ten is a local race organised by Seaford Striders every December to raise funds both for local charities and the club itself. The 2017 race will take place at 11.00 a.m. on Sunday 10th December 2017 starting and finishing at the Peacehaven Leisure Centre. This year’s charity is Headway
The race is a very popular multi-terrain event which is contested over a challenging ten mile course, and sees many entrants returning year after year for a pre Xmas work-out!
Seaford Striders are thankful to the race sponsors and supporters without whose help and support the event would not be possible, David Jordan Estate Agents , Sussex Sport Photography who provide photographic coverage of the event and Sussex Sussex Sports Massage, who will offer pre and post-race 15 minute massages.
Baggage Drop Off
The course is ten miles long, undulating, with a testing hill at around six miles. It is approximately 6 miles off road on farm tracks and bridleways, while the remaining 4 miles are on reasonably quiet roads. It is therefore not suitable for cross country spikes, however ordinary running shoes are usually fine, with a waffle sole probably being the best for traction. With so much of the course off road, and given the time of year, the course can be fairly muddy.
First Aid St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
