The Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon

Download final race instructions here

Following the cancelation of the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon in 2021, due to Covid restrictions, the race will return in February 2022.

Famed for the scenic and challenging route (the 300 foot ascent of Spring Hill at Fordcombe is to be mentioned), meticulous organisation, value for money and friendly marshals, it was voted the 'Most Improved Race in the UK' in 2009 and was voted the No.2 Half Marathon in the UK in 2011 by Runner's World readers.

It is one of the biggest events in the UK organised by a running club and Tunbridge Wells Harriers are very proud to have hosted the event for over 30 years.

Over the last 5 years the race has also donated over £120,000 to charity and some worthy local causes directly from race surplus.

Tunbridge Wells Harriers are hugely grateful to all of the sponsors and partners particularly to Hendy Ford. The race is organised by volunteers from Tunbridge Wells Harriers.

Nice Work are pleased to be providing chip timing services for the event.

The Course
The race is a testing, picturesque course through the Kent countryside. It is a one-lap course, featuing a few notable hills, including Spring Hill on the approach to Fordcombe. As this is a hilly course, we regret that it is not suitable for wheelchair athletes. Dogs or buggies will not be permitted, and athletes must not be accompanied or followed by others on cycles.

First Aid

St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep marshal following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Your individual time and position will be recorded by your electronic chip. We will endeavour to display results as they come into the race centre. Results will be uploaded to www.nice-work.org.uk as soon as possible after the race. All entrants that have supplied a valid and legible email address will receive a copy of the results as soon as possible after the race.
